A borough of northwest England on the Manchester Ship Canal adjacent to Manchester. It was first chartered in 1230. Population: 72,700.

The two eight-year-olds, a seven-year-old and a 10-year-old were playing on swings in a park in Salford, Greater Manchester, shortly before the alleged attacks on Sunday.
The teenager, from Salford, Greater Manchester, has not been named.
Lee Williams, 26, of Pendlebury Road, Salford, Greater Manchester, 21-year-old Gareth Brook, of Shakespeare Road, Swinton, Greater Manchester, and 38-year-old Brian Horrocks of Dorchester Road, Swinton, were convicted at Manchester Crown Court.
