A salt and vinegar solution may be used to remove the tarnishing of copper articles.
I remember going picking mussels off the underside of Penmaenmawr pier with my dad, early in the mornings when we were on holiday in Wales, then steaming them open in a big pan back at the holiday flat and eating them with salt and vinegar on them for dinner.
Call me old-fashioned but I'm more of a salt and vinegar man myself.
