And classical Sanskrit poetry has occasionally been beautifully rendered; the translations by the late Daniel Ingalls, in particular his 1965 Anthology of Sanskrit Court Poetry (a book I remember reading to tatters), are unusually fine.
They are to perform a dance created from Sanskrit poetry they have titled Cosmic Ripples at The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Quarry Hill, Leeds.
