Dragged by a number of selloffs following technology earnings reports, the NASDAQ 100 (NDAQ100 CFD) has decisively broken down through the 1,800 level where it had consolidated in recent sessions, with next support near 1,750 followed by 1,650.
Investors tracked selloffs in markets across the globe with a barrage of discouraging economic news heightening fears of a prolonged recession.
Some analysts say the savage selloffs over the past weeks have effectively established a "bottom" for the stock indexes, although others say a rebound will be hard to maintain with confidence weak and recession likely.
