Amerada Hess in late 2008 made major gas finds at its Semai V offshore block, which can be tapped to feed the Tangguh complex.
The Indonesian government awarded the offshore Semai V block to Hess last month that eliminated several major companies, including Pertamina in the bidding round.
The report said that PTTEP Semai II Ltd, a subsidiary of PTT Exploration & Production, and another company, Inpex Corp.
