Led by Aaron Glassenberg, the study indicates that irrespective of sexual orientation, men's brains are wired for attraction to sexually dimorphic faces-those with facial features that are most synonymous with their gender.
Anogenital distance (AGD), a sexually dimorphic trait in rodents and humans, is considered a reliable marker of androgen and antiandrogen effects in rodents, but data on AGD in humans are sparse and longitudinal changes during infancy have not been assessed.
[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Sexually dimorphic characteristics--those that make females look more feminine (think of a stereotypical cheerleader) and males look more masculine (think of a stereotypical football player)--are also a plus the researchers found.
