Shi·ko·ku  (sh-kôk, shkô-k)
An island of southern Japan between southwest Honshu and eastern Kyushu. It was held by various feudal families from early times until c. 1600.

A travel agency official in the Shikoku region of western Japan said corporate demand for domestic and international flights has decreased as firms cut back on their business trips, but demand for tours to South Korea has been robust.
The northern part of the Kyushu region, and the Chugoku and Shikoku regions in western Japan, may see the rainy season start around Wednesday or Thursday, more than a week later than in normal years, the agency said.
