Byline: AFP JERUSALEM: The Israeli government on Sunday extended by one year the tenure of the head of the powerful Shin Beth internal security service, an official said.
They cooperate fully with America--currently in the person of General Keith Dayton - and with Israel's Shin Beth.
Public radio said the Shin Beth, Israel's domestic intelligence agency, also opposes freeing the 50-year-old, who remains highly popular on the Palestinian street and is seen by many as the natural successor to president Mahmud Abbas.
