Ceredigion [ˌkɛrəˈdɪgj^ən]

(Placename) a county of W Wales, on Cardigan Bay: created in 1996 from part of Dyfed; corresponds to the former Cardiganshire (abolished 1974): mainly agricultural, with the Cambrian Mountains in the E and N. Administrative centre: Aberaeron. Pop.: 75 384 (2001). Area: 1793 sq. km (692 sq. miles)
