One of the men carried out the assault on Eishort Way, on the junction with Goathland Avenue, in Longbenton, North Tyneside, causing a fractured cheekbone, before making off along Skelder Avenue, on Sunday.
It took place about two miles north of the roundabout junction with the A169 at a place known locally as Skelder Bank.
Angie, a mother-of-two, of Skelder Avenue, Longbenton, said: "Pam and Tom went through a tough time during her illness and this is to celebrate Sharon's life and to raise money in her memory.
