During the winter months, when the snow is on the ground, there is the chance to go dog-sledding with up to 12 huskies for about pounds 255 at the Cairngorms sleddog centre, spending the night in their camp.
That has forced some hunters to let their sleddogs starve to death, since they can't provide them with the seals and fish they need to eat.
John has worked with sled dogs since his dad Alan, who runs the Cairngorm Sleddog Centre in Aviemore, bought him his first when he was six.
