According to his work Buchedd Dewi (Life of St David), St David lived for more than 100 years, and died on 1 March 589.
The strip represents the flag of St David, which depicts a gold cross on a black field and was first worn by Warren Gatland's Wales team for last autumn's Test against Canada at the Millennium Stadium.
This miniature stamp sheet will feature the current Welsh first class stamp together with another first class stamp that depicts the Red Dragon plus two 81p stamps, one that depicts St David and one of the Welsh Assembly building in Cardiff Bay.
