A river rising in the Stikine Mountains of northwest British Columbia, Canada, and flowing about 539 km (335 mi) generally west and southwest through southeast Alaska to the Pacific Ocean.

Every April, several thousand bald eagles descend on Wrangell and the Stikine River Delta to feast on the hooligan (a smelt like fish) running on the Stikine River.
Today, Y2Y boasts more than 280 affiliated groups, ranging from the large and established such as the Sierra Club and the Audubon Society to smaller coalitions such as the Alberta's Bow Valley Grizzly Bear Alliance in Alberta and Friends of the Stikine (River) Society in based in Victoria, British Columbia.
