Strat·ford  (strtfrd)
A town of southwest Connecticut on Long Island Sound northeast of Bridgeport. Settled in 1639, it is a manufacturing center. Population: 49,500.

He was still wild, and being caught once more in stealing game he left Stratford and went to London.
In his early manhood, apparently between 1586 and 1588, Shakspere left Stratford to seek his fortune in London.
She went by mistake to Stratford-on-Avon, finding Stratford set down in her list of places, and then she was told she had come a long way out of the right road.
