n.
A North American food and game fish (Morone saxatilis) chiefly of coastal waters, having dark longitudinal stripes along its sides. Striped bass, which swim up rivers to spawn, are occasionally found in landlocked bodies of water. Also called rockfish, striper.

He spent many hours fishing for striped bass and tuna in the waters off of Long Island and sailing with his family.
We tested whether striped bass (Morone saxatilis Walbaum), found in Massachusetts in summer, were migratory, how long they stayed in non-natal estuaries, whether observed spatial patterns differed from random model predictions, whether fish returned to the same area across multiple years, and whether fishing effort could explain recapture patterns.
