The Abu Sayyaf Group kidnapped Vagni and two other ICRC volunteers, Filipino Mary Jean Lacaba and Swiss Andreas Notter, on January 15 in Sulu province.
Police said separate factions of the Abu Sayyaf are also holding a lending firm collector, Leah Patris, a Sri Lankan peace activist, Umar Jaleel, and an Italian Red Cross worker Eugenio Vagni who was seized in January in Sulu province.
Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas, reporting from Manila, said the governor of Sulu province, citing intelligence reports, said on national television that all three hostages were still alive.
