The council is now in talks with operator Geraud Markets to look at the possibility of opening a Sunday market in the city as well as increasing the number of trading days currently available to stall holders.
There are two main reasons for this; one is the movement of a great number of artists to the revamped Quayside Sunday market and the other is the retirement of a number of long-standing artists within that period.
Although still only in its infancy, organisers of the new Coventry Sunday Market at the Ricoh Arena's Jaguar Exhibition Hall hope their initial success will make the market a new fixture.
