n.1.An early form of animated-picture machine, devised in 1889 by Otto Anschütz of Berlin, in which the chronophotographs were mounted upon the periphery of a rotating wheel.

tachyscope
a type of kinescope that presents the effect of moving pictures by use of a rotating glass plate with images attached to it.
