An ancient city of central Mexico northeast of present-day Mexico City. Its ruins include the Pyramid of the Sun and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl.

The topics include corporate life in apartment and barrio compounds at Teotihuacan in Central Mexico, evidence for ethnic diversity in the lowland Maya state capital Tikal, domestic life in and around the urban sector of the Huacas of Moche site in Northern Peru, and domestic life and craft specialization in Inka Cusco and its rural hinterland.
One such item, which reverses previous thinking that Teotihuacan was a peaceful society, is a large just-excavated marble statue of a slave showing signs of bondage and arrows in his limbs.
According to a report in New Scientist, to investigate further, Jorge Cruz of the Professional School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Mexico City and Nico Declercq of the Georgia Institute of Technology compared the frequency of sounds made by people walking up El Castillo with those made at the solid, uneven-stepped Moon Pyramid at Teotihuacan in central Mexico.
