Oct 2, 2009 Tamil Nadu The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will launch tourist-friendly autorickshaw scheme in Tiruchi and Thanjavur soon.
IT Minister Poongothai Aladi Aruna has urged IT companies to move to Tier-II cities in Tamil Nadu such as Tiruchi, Madurai and Tirunelveli at the recently held NASSCOMM Sumumit.
The number of travelers from south India, including from Chennai, Tiruchi, Bangalore and Hyderabad, increased by 25 percent to 30 percent in June and July 2009 compared to previous years, following a promotional drive in India and abroad by the Sri Lankan tourism board to attract leisure and business travellers.
