ti·tra·tion  (t-trshn)
n.
The process, operation, or method of determining the concentration of a substance in solution by adding to it a standard reagent of known concentration in carefully measured amounts until a reaction of definite and known proportion is completed, as shown by a color change or by electrical measurement, and then calculating the unknown concentration.

titration [taɪˈtreɪʃən]
n
(Chemistry) an operation, used in volumetric analysis, in which a measured amount of one solution is added to a known quantity of another solution until the reaction between the two is complete. If the concentration of one solution is known, that of the other can be calculated

titration  (t-trshn)

Titration is performed by adding to a known volume of the solution a standard reagent of known concentration in carefully measured amounts until a reaction of definite and known proportion is completed (as shown by a color change or by electrical measurement) and then calculating the unknown concentration.

Noun1.titration - a measured amount of a solution of unknown concentration is added to a known volume of a second solution until the reaction between them is just complete; the concentration of the unknown solution (the titer) can then be calculated
volumetric analysis - quantitative analysis by the use of definite volumes of standard solutions or reagents

Titration curves for S100B-peptide complex formation were obtained by adding 15-20 aliquots of S100B up to a 3-fold excess of a protein over the peptide.
For instance, real-time titration curves can offer some assistance when developing new methods.
