Turritella

Tur`ri`tel´la
n.1.(Zool.) Any spiral marine gastropod belonging to Turritella and allied genera. These mollusks have an elongated, turreted shell, composed of many whorls. They have a rounded aperture, and a horny multispiral operculum.

Observations on the biology of Turritella gonostoma Valenciennes (Prosobranchia: Turritellidae) from the Gulf of California.
60% IRI) were represented by the small octopus Robsonella fontaniana, and the snail Turritella cingulata.
These included the gastropod Turritella alabamiensis (39% of the 8750 fossils), which was mainly represented by phosphatic internal molds.
