They said the unicameral parliament of the country is still shackled with the same "outdated" powers since its establishment in 1972.
A Commons motion signed by 42 MPs, including the North-East's North Durham and Blyth Valley MPs Kevan Jones and Ronnie Campbell, says the creation of a unicameral Parliament remains a "politically live" issue and will be revisited soon amid continuing debate about the future of the second chamber.
