A city of eastern Sweden north-northwest of Stockholm. Capital of a pre-Christian kingdom in the early Middle Ages, it became an episcopal see in 1164 and the coronation place of Swedish monarchs. The University of Uppsala was founded in 1477. Population: 185,000.

Byline: ANI Washington, Oct 24 (ANI): Prenatal sex-based biological differences can extend to genetic expression in cerebral cortices and are probably associated with later divergences in how our brains develop, a new study by researchers at Uppsala University has found.

The study was carried out by Kristin Jonsdottir, Roland Roberts, Veijo Pohjola, Bjorn Lund, Zaher Hossein Shomali, Ari Tryggvason, and Reynir Boovarsson from the Department of Earth Science, Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden.
