Van de Graaff Robert Jemison
Van de Graaff(văn′ də grăf′), Robert Jemison 1901-1967.
American physicist. In 1929, he invented an electrical generator (later called the Van de Graaff generator) that was adapted for use as a particle accelerator and became an important research tool for atomic physicists. The generator was also used to produce a type of x-ray helpful in treating cancer.
