Curated by his producer Joe Boyd, with arrangements by folk legend Robert Kirby, the evening concert features a veritable who's who of contemporary and legendary singers - Martha Wainwright, Graham Coxon, Beth Orton, Vashti Bunyan, Robyn Hitchcock, Camille O'Sullivan and Jack Steadman - backed by an extraordinary house band including guitarist Neil MacColl and inspiring jazz pianist Zoe Rahman.
Vashti Banyan: From Here to Before (2008) by Kieran Evans, retraces the titular 1960s British folk singer's bizarre two-year journey to the far north of Scotland on a horse and cart that inspired the quietly influential album Just Another Diamond Day (1970), and reveals a charismatic, intelligent, and thoughtful woman.
She didn't remember her sister Vashti as a baby (but Anjali was only three years old when Vashti was born).
