Vinitrox is thought to have a vasodilatory effect on blood vessels, caused by the production of nitric oxide by NO-synthase in the endothelium.
According to Braun and Cohen (2005) its vasodilatory effects make it an option in the management of sexual dysfunction where compromised circulation is suspected.
Importantly, it has both fast vasodilatory effects and slower, longer-term actions which inhibit the response to vascular injury and thus help prevent atherosclerosis.
