Of all the Balanchine diaspora companies—that is, those headed by his artistic progeny or their offspring—the one most closely watched is the Miami City Ballet, whose artistic director is Edward Villella, the world’s original just-one-of-the-guys ballet dancer.
In his latest work, ``The Neighborhood Ballroom,'' which will have its West Coast premiere tonight at the Cerritos Center, Villella examines American history through the constantly changing kaleidoscope of the social dances that were the rage during four eras.
