A country in the northern Leeward Islands of the Caribbean Sea, comprising the island of Antigua and the smaller islands of Barbuda and Redonda. Settled by the English in 1632, the country became independent in 1981. St. John's is the capital. Population: 69,500.

Even in the noisy rum shops of St John's there is little to be wary of apart from drinking one too many bottles of Wadadli, the local beer.
It's delivered to our five-star hotel that evening as I sit by the pool sipping a Wadadli beer with a belly full of lobster and an eye on the cocktail menu.
There, hiding in the shade from the scorching midday sun and drinking pints of the potent local lager Wadadli - or ``widdly widdl'' as it became dubbed - we erupted with delight watching Neil Mellor hit his 35-yard screamer into the Kop goal to win the game with seconds to spare.
