WHISTLE blowers in the health service will be legally protected under new measures which came into force yesterday.
MRS Gun looked clearly relieved at a press conference following her acquittal at the offices of civil liberties group Liberty who have called for the Official Secrets Act to include a public interest defence for whistle blowers who expose serious wrongdoing.
For example, if the whistle blowers expose some wrongdoing in the government or mismanagement, they are given a certain percentage as a reward.
