A yellow wagtail was among white wagtails at RSPB Conwy, while a hobby over Rossett was the first this year in North Wales.
Migrants on the Great Orme include ring ouzels and grasshopper warblers, while RSPB Conwy recorded crossbill, redpoll and a few dozen white wagtails, the Continental race of the pied wagtail so common in our towns.
The ploughed fields of Plex Moss are a magnet for migrating birds - I counted 54 white wagtails, with 20 wheatears and a single yellow wagtail in just one field, while a cuckoo flew overhead calling.
