British general in Canada. He defeated the French at Quebec (1759) but was mortally wounded in the battle.

American writer who is best known for his two autobiographical novels, Look Homeward, Angel (1929) and You Can't Go Home Again (1940).

American writer. A leading exponent of New Journalism, he has written extensively on popular culture. His works include The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968) and The Right Stuff (1979).
