A city of east-central China on the Chang Jiang (Yangtze River). It is the industrial and commercial center of central China. Population: 4,480,000.

In July a group of teachers and children from Shuiguohu Primary School, in Wuhan, China visited Bedewell.

The bacteria, a particular strain of Brachybacterium, strain Mn32, was described by Professor Gejiao Wang and his colleagues from Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan, China.
