Usage Note: In formal writing, yet in the sense "up to now" is normally used with an accompanying verb in the present perfect rather than in the simple past. Thus, one would say He hasn't started yet, not He didn't start yet. The use of yet with the simple past is common in speech and may be appropriate for informal writing.

 When not ... yet is used in statements or questions, translate using todavía no or aún no, both of which can go at either the beginning or the end of the sentence:

Meaning "to date"
 When yet follows a superlative or never and means "to date", translate using hasta ahora:

In predictions
 When yet is used in predictions about the future, translate using todavía or aún:
