(Non-Christian Religions / Other Non-Christian Religions) a religious sect found in the Kurdish areas of Iraq, Turkey, and Syria, whose beliefs combine elements of Zoroastrianism, Islam, Christianity, and other religions; in addition to believing in a Supreme God, the Yezidi worship seven angels, among whom is the devil, who is believed to have repented and been pardoned and reinstated as chief angel

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi Parliament adjourned the session after voting on the proposal regarding adopting the Trade Ministry's statistics of 2005, Yazidi lawmaker said on Monday.
A Yazidi member of Ninewa Provincial Council, Darman Khatari, announced that allocating a single seat for his religious minority is "marginalizing the Yazidis.
Aa "Extremist elements among the insurgents have viciously attacked Chaldo-Assyrian, Yazidi and Shabak communities, labeling them crusaders, devil worshipers and infidels," the report said.
