160 Legal commentators predict that the litigation that will result from the year 2000 problem will dwarf that of asbestos and other mass torts.
The research also indicated that small and medium-sized UK retailers are more concerned with short-term problems than longer-term IT strategies, with almost a quarter of the retailers citing the Year 2000 problem as their company's current key issue.
Because such decompilation forms part of the work that needs to be done to address the year 2000 problem, the legislation is backdated to February 23, 1999.
