The Serpent Mound

Located in rural Adams County, Ohio, the Serpent Mound is an effigy of a snake built into the earth. Believed to have been created around 1070 CE, the curving, grassy mound is about 1,330 feet (405 m) long and about 3 feet (1 m) high. What are some of Handy's most famous songs? More...
Quotation of the Day

Although the largest Native American populations can be found in Oklahoma, Arizona, California, New Mexico, and North Carolina, many other states have come up with ways to draw attention to their unique contribution to American culture. Most celebrations focus on educational and promotional events, displays of Native American art and dance, and agricultural fairs. More...

Creative Justice: Woman Ordered to Hold "Idiot" Sign

A woman who was caught driving on a sidewalk in order to pass a school bus that was unloading children had her license suspended for 30 days and was fined $250 for court costs, but the judge did not stop there. The woman served her sentence earlier this week. Do you think the punishment fit the crime? More...
