Hanna-Barbera

American animators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera both began working at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1937. The two soon created the cartoon characters Tom, a cat, and Jerry, a mouse, and from 1940 to 1957, they produced more than 200 cartoons, seven of which won Academy Awards. Valerie Solanas Attempts to Assassinate Andy Warhol (1968)

In the mid-1960s, American pop-art icon Andy Warhol began to devote much of his time and energy to filmmaking, producing marathon films on boredom and voyeurism that featured deliberately coarse amalgams of sexuality and banality. In 1968, he was shot and wounded by Valerie Solanas, a feminist writer who had appeared in one of his films. Loewi was a German-born American physiologist and pharmacologist. A professor of pharmacology at Austria's University of Graz, he was forced into exile by the Nazi purge of professors in 1938 and began teaching at New York University in 1940. Facebook Founder Only Eating Animals He Kills

Each year, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg undertakes a personal challenge to learn about the world, expand his interests, and teach himself discipline. Last year, he vowed to learn Chinese and spent an hour each day studying the language. This year, he has challenged himself to eat only meat that comes from animals he himself has slaughtered. This is meant to remind him to be grateful for the food that he eats and to be conscious of the fact that a living creature had to die in order for him to eat.
