To determine the length of the
angle brace, measure the vertical post from its base to the top wire, and double that length.
The final steps were to trim the tops of the teeth flush with the rake's head (except for the center tooth), give the handle a light sanding, and install an
angle brace in the form of twisted wire to keep the rake's head perpendicular to the handle.

Connecting a structure to an existing slab requires either drilling and setting an expanding anchor bolt with a galvanized post anchor (Figure 29-2) or connecting to the slab using an
angle brace (Figure 29-3).
Our buck is made of six pieces of 48" long rough-sawn 2 x 4s for the three X's, with four 1 x 6 horizontal pieces screwed to the legs top and bottom (two on either side), and one 40"
angle brace nailed on the back between the horizontals (see photo).

Photo 12 shows how to anchor the top shelf with an
angle brace. If you also want to anchor the bottom of the final upright, drive a trim screw at an angle through the shelf from underneath.
Pull the assembled spine up the scaffolding, and bolt it in place to the top pole pivot, making sure that the bolt hole on the spine for the
angle brace is facing the downward side.
