[USA], May 4 (ANI): Michelle Pfeiffer, Lucas Hedges, and Tracy Letts have been roped in for 'French Exit', a comedy film directed by
Azazel Jacobs.
Aided by telepath Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), shape-shifter Raven Darkholme (Jennifer Lawrence) and five gifted mutants - Angel (Zoe Kravitz), Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Darwin (Edi Gathegi) and Havok (Lucas Till) - Erik must stop Shaw, who intends to spark nuclear war aided by mutant sidekicks Emma Frost (January Jones),
Azazel (Jason Flemyng) and Riptide (Alex Gonzalez).
(To fall out of touch: to fall, like
Azazel.) Now, one in seven people on the planet is displaced, their Eden lost to war, epidemics, totalitarian regimes, hunger.
Of one leader of the fallen angels,
Azazel, it is said that "he showed them metals and how to work them." (55) The film utilizes these traditions when it shows the men--headed by Tubal Cain--occupied making weapons out of metals, and using them to kill and terrorize women, animals and one another.
The Lovers:
Azazel Jacobs' story of two philandering spouses who suddenly become interested in each other again is an off-kilter gem with two marvelous actors in Tracy Letts and Debra Winger.
It is modeled on a misreading of the Hebrew
azazel (which is probably the name of a demon) as ez 'ozel--"the goat that departs." More modern translations render scapegoat in the text as
Azazel, but the misreading endured and has entered the lexicon.
