B-scan ultrasonography showed extensive vitreous opacities and an attached retina (Figure).
Pictorial essay:
B-scan ultrasonography in ocular abnormalities Indian J Radiol Imaging 2009; 19: 109-15.
Presence and extent of PVD were evaluated by clinical examination, SD-OCT, and
B-scan ultrasonography (USG).
Performing routine
B-Scan ultrasonography at 10 MHz does not detect the PC because of its low resolution, and while performing ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) at 35-50 MHz is useful for detecting the anterior segment of the eyeball, including the ciliary body, it does not reach the plane of the PC because of its lower penetration.
Transillumination and
B-scan ultrasonography strongly supported this diagnosis.
CT examination revealed the presence of prehepatic fluid inclusion in the patient and, percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD) under
B-scan ultrasonography was subsequently performed.
B-scan ultrasonography following open globe repair.
Diagnostic
B-Scan Ultrasonography was performed in these patients preoperatively.
Among the topics are color vision and color blindness, slit-lamp examination, corneal confocal microscopy, optic disc assessment in glaucoma, indocyanine green angiography, A-scan and
B-scan ultrasonography, electrophysical tests for assessing visual function, anterior segment optical coherence tomography, localizing an intra-ocular foreign body, diagnostic procedures for genetically transmitted eye diseases, diagnostic modalities in intra-ocular malignancies, and ocular motor nerve palsies.
(6) Technologies such as autofluorescence, OCT, and
B-scan ultrasonography are helpful in differential diagnoses, viewing clefts, and uncovering the integrity of the surrounding retinal structures.
In this respect, imaging technology, such as
B-scan ultrasonography, UBM, CT, or MRI can discover eye tumors and avoid misdiagnosis.
B-scan ultrasonography showed that the tumor measured 11.1 X 15.9 X 13.7 mm (Figure 1, inset) and an A-scan showed low to medium internal reflectivity in the tumor.
