beryllina; Suttkus and Thompson, 2002; Suttkus et al., 2005) with introduced inland silversides rapidly displacing endemic brook silversides. For example, the brook silverside was living in tributary streams of the Red River that subsequently entered Lake Texoma after its impoundment (Sisk and Stephens, 1964) and was the only silverside in the reservoir until 1953 (Moore and Buck, 1953; Riggs and Dowell, 1956).
In particular, creation of the TTW has allowed the apparent invasion of the Mississippi silverside (Menidia audens) from the Mississippi River system (Taylor et al., 2008); before, only the brook silverside (Labidesthes sicculus) was present.
