Chi·chén It·zá
(chē-chĕn′ ē-tsä′, ēt′sə) An ancient Mayan city of central Yucatán in Mexico, noted for its extensive well preserved ruins. The city was founded around the 6th century and abandoned by the end of the 12th century.
