A city of northwest Peru north-northwest of Lima. Situated on the coastal desert between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, the city may go years at a time without rainfall.

In addition to the works in Lima, there are upgrades going on across the country, including at the Capitan FAP Jose A Quihones Gonzalez International Airport (IATA: CIX), the airport serving Chiclayo, the principal city of the Lambayeque Region in northwestern Peru.
