Churchill River

1. A river of eastern Canada flowing about 970 km (600 mi) across Labrador to the Atlantic Ocean. Its upper course is marked by Churchill Falls, 75 m (245 ft) high, the site of a major hydroelectric power plant.

2. A river rising in northwest Saskatchewan, Canada, and flowing about 1,600 km (1,000 mi) eastward across Saskatchewan and northern Manitoba then northeast to Hudson Bay. It was once an important fur-trading route.
