Cider-mill horse power

A stationary indoor horse power consisting of a heavy vertical shaft pivoted between the floor and the ceiling. The shaft had sweep arms attached to it near the floor and a large gear for transmitting power that was mounted high enough up the shaft for the horses to pass under it.
