Here we examine the phonologically and etymologically generated
cognation of two Luzumiyyas: (1) the -smu rhyme that generated tasmu as the rhyme word and hence semantic kernel of the Tasmu poem, and (2) the lamsi Luzumiyya, in the meter wafir, which features the synonym and metathetic mate of tasm, that is, tarns, as the rhyme word of its second verse.
