Reference values of biochemical profile have been reported for Boa constrictor constrictor (Linnaeus, 1758) in captivity in the USA (Chiodini and Sunberg, 1982; Rosskopf et al., 1982; Divers, 2000).
Some authors (Chiodini and Sunberg, 1982; Rosskopf et al., 1982) studied Boa constrictor constrictor and found cholesterol and total protein levels similar to those detected in the present study; AST values, however, were higher than those reported in this paper for both seasons.
Three northern black racers, Coluber constrictor constrictor were collected recently killed on a roadway in Chester County (39[degrees]96'N, 075[degrees]75'W), Pennsylvania, during July and October of 1995.
