* 1944--Becker introduced culdoscopy. He stated that failure of proper visualisation was usually due to presence of intestinal loops and inability to isolate pelvic organs properly.
Culdoscopy was a new procedure for pelvic visualization in gynaecology and it was claimed that the procedure was invaluable in the investigation of pelvic tumours, small ovarian disease, endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy and especially helpful in the detailed study of primary and secondary sterility in females.
