The synthetic methodology was triggered by reaction of 2,4-
dimethylaniline (1) with benzenesulfonyl chloride (2) at pH 9-10 in aqueous sodium carbonate (10 %) to generate N-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)benzenesulfonamide (3) which was further treated with different aralkylated halides (4a-e) in polar aprotic medium; N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and lithium hydride (LiH) which acts as base under stirring at room temperature for 3 hours to afford N- aralkylated-N-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)benzenesulfonamides (5a-e).

In order to investigate these potential properties, four new Schiff base phenoxyimine (PHI) ligands were synthesized from the Schiff base condensation reaction between substituted salicylaldehyde and substituted aniline: 1) ligandl: N-(salicylidene)-3,5-dichloroaniline ([L.sup.1]), 2) ligand2: N-(3,5-dichlorosalicylidene)-3,5 dichloroaniline ([L.sup.2]), 3) ligand 3 N-(3,5-dichlorosalicylidene)- 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)aniline ([L.sup.3]), and 4) ligand4: N-(3,5-dichlorosalicylidene)-3,5-
dimethylaniline ([L.sup.4]).
The organic component of the fuel consists of triethylamine (50 wt%) and various isomers of
dimethylaniline (45 wt%).
Suida and Titsch (1928) acetylated powdered beech and pine using pyridine or
dimethylaniline as a catalyst to yield an acetyl weight gain of 30 to 35 percent after 15 to 35 days at 100[degrees]C.
Mixture ratios used for the 8084 resin specimens are 1.50% of the catalyst (MEKP), and 0.30% of the promoters, CoNap-6%, and 0.025% of
dimethylaniline by mass of resin.
